Zen is a 76’ in length Grand Salon Sky Lounge model Lazzara motoryacht.  She is located at the Michigan City Public Marina in Washington Park, Indiana, near the Coast Guard Station and the marina main office.  For your GPS, the address is 200 Heisman Harbor Road, Michigan City, IN  46360.

She was built in Tampa FL in 2000 by Lazzara Yachts, and displaces 100 gross tons.  She’s powered by twin MTU Mercedes 12 cylinder diesel engines, totaling 2200 horsepower.  There are redundant 20kw generators, for your comfort and safety.  Also for your comfort she was retrofitted with the latest digitally controlled hydraulic TRAC stabilizer system in 2010, which makes her extremely stable under way.  She has the highest tech soundproofing;  it’s hard to perceive the main engines running in the sky lounge, on the sky deck, or out on the spacious bow!  A similar version of this vessel is still being built by Lazzara Yachts; comparably equipped the vessel is priced at approximately $5 million dollars US!

Zen has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, a huge main salon with the latest entertainment gear, a very large bow area with sun pads, a powerful XM Radio Stereo and seating, a large enclosed Sky lounge for the best view, and an aft Sky deck to enjoy the sun.  All areas have ample seating and “lazing room.”  There is Blueray,  XM Satellite radio throughout the vessel, and DirecTV Satellite TV on several televisions  with hundreds of available channels  (just tell us your entertainment preferences).  She also sports a new tracking Intellian satellite TV system installed in 2011, and all new navigational electronics installed in 2011 for your safety.

Captains Tom and Matt enjoy explaining the technology of the vessel to those who are interested, telling stories about the amazing journey to Michigan City from Ft. Lauderdale (via the eastern Atlantic seaboard and the Erie Barge Canal), and will let you take your turn at the helm if you’d like!  There is also a 15’ yacht tender with enough power to pull a water skier, water tubes, and wake boards, all of which are available, if that is your desire.
